A small fable related to Christmas...

The lion and the mouse ( by La Fontaine, and freely traduced by me)


A cat came out of its hideaway and found itself right in between the paws of a lion.
The king of animals showed a really Solomonic attitutde and let the little companion run free..
He got rewarded for his gentleness afterwards by the same mouse - as unlikely as it might sound.
The lion got caught in a net which had been put as a trap. He bawled terribly in his anger- but still the net would not allow him to escape.
The mouse heard him, ran up to him and gnawed away some fads, so that the whole net ripped open and the lion was able to leave.
