Pope goes megalomaniac

Ok, so after all this fuss in the media and the Arabian world going on about Pope Benedict XVI and the lecture he gave in Regensburg University, I decided to take a look at the original text in German.
Actually, it is suprisingly funny...folks I'm not gonna make any judgement about the content of the lecture itself, I just want to stress some irony involved here :
In the lecture, Pope Benedict XVI basically wants to communicate his conviction that Christianity is based on reason and forgiveness ( cf " Kingdom of Heaven" lol ) bla bla bla and confirms his point by quoting a dialogue published by Theodore Khoury which dates from around 1400 ( in this dialogue Islam is represented as a religion that imposes itself by using violence or force, quote : "show me what Mohammed has brought, and you will only find bad and inhuman things like his order to divulge the belief by the use of the sword“----I'm not judging on this one used as a quote either---just quoting, that is).
What really makes me laugh at all this is the point that the whole talking about love, understanding, forgiveness etc has just caused more violence and intolerance.
Big up for civilization and 21st century!!!!!!!
